Reusable food packaging

Can we imagine food shopping without disposable packaging? REPACT is a packaging and transport solution for groceries based on the principle of reusability, which is offered as a service to the customer by the provider. Through individual portioning of food, standardized bulk packaging and food waste can be avoided. The product consists of two trays between which the portioned food is placed. The package is vacuum-sealed to keep the contents fresh and correctly positioned. Once the package is opened and the food consumed, the product can be returned to the cycle.

JURY STATEMENT

Re-usable food packaging is a good way to minimize resource use in our consumer society. This design concept delivers a product that is not only attractive but also fulfills all of the required functions: it keeps food fresh, is robust and highly presentable, and draws the consumer’s interest. This is a simple yet deceptively clever product.
