A biodegradable ritual product for ash immersion

This biodegradable urn, which dissolves in water, is designed for use during Hindu funeral rites (Asthi Visarjan). These rituals have often led to additional pollutants entering river streams. The urn is designed to hold and release only ashes, as intended by scripture, while leaving nothing harmful in the river. This helps Hindu families perform pollution-free final rites for their loved ones.

JURY STATEMENT

This concept addresses modern issues within ancient traditions, keeping heritage alive while reducing waste in a very respectful manner.

WINNER STATEMENT

We are honored to receive an iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD for The Return Urn. As a multi-faith team, we believe culturally sensitive design can change hearts and minds, while helping communities return to nature with care. Om Shanti Om.
