Smartphone app

Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd.

Rev Translator is the world’s first smartphone application that translates “Engine sounds” into human language. (As investigated by Yamaha Motor as of July, 2014) Six translators with different personalities are available on the app. It translates the sound into more than 100 million combinations of lines and shows emotions depending on the engine sound. It even takes into account the time of day and the weather. Communication with engines is designed as an exciting new experience. The designers hope that people will feel closer to the engines and their sounds in a totally new way.
