Public space
Siheung City Landscape Design DepartmentThe project aims to solve the environmental problems caused by millions of tons of discarded shells and surfboards. Re:wave is designed to be a sustainable, eco-friendly public park built with recycled shells and upcycled surfboards. The shells can be made into high-density concrete for sidewalks, walls, and structures, and surfboards can be turned into benches, tables and roofs for shelters. This project will encourage manufacturers and the local government of Siheung-si, Korea, to produce and use domestic shell concrete for other public facilities.
