RITE Forest of the Future

Architecture

RITE Forest of the Future is a negative-emission demonstration plant exhibited by the Research Institute of Innovative Technology for the Earth (RITE) at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. The facility integrates Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology, capturing CO2 directly from the atmosphere, with Carbon dioxide Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS), which either reuses or stores the captured carbon underground. The Guidance Hall, built with a CLT (Cross Laminated Timber) Origami Structure, centres around the operational DAC, with an immersive visual experience of RITE’s future technologies.
