SAM-932: Garak Market Water Tower Project

Public Art

The Garak Market Water Tower Public Art Project aims to transform the last remaining water tower in Seoul into an art piece that highlights the importance of water. After being neglected for about 20 years since its use was discontinued, the water tower is being reborn as an urban art space offering emotional healing and relaxation. The project selected an artwork through an international competition for the outer artwork and involved local residents in the creation of the interior works, pushing forward as a project that fosters co-existence with the local community through various programs.
