Save My Speech Forever

Promotional illustrations

As a part of the Save My Speech Forever movie promotional campaign we designed a series of illustrations telling about the meaningful events of the Osip Mandelshtam’s life. Arrested for "counter-revolutionary activity," died in a transit camp, starved and insane, he remains one of the most significant Russian poets of the 20th century. The graphic style of the illustrations refers to hagiographies of the first Christian martyrs and saints. It embraces artistic methods widely used by the Orthodox icon painters and Russian avant-garde artists merged with key images of Mandelshtam's poetry.
