Scan Ship is a new self-checkout used in hypermarkets. It has two benefits for both customers and stores. First, it offers easier checkout because customers only place items on the conveyor belt, and each item is automatically registered via a tunnel-type scanner. The device is also faster, equipped with two parallel lanes for bagging and payment. A customer can start the checkout process while the previous customer is still bagging because the new customer’s items will be placed on a second separate lane.
