Bendable roll-out smart phone

Compal Electronics Inc.

While readability and optics have influenced the average size of smart phones in the past decade from 3.5” to 6.2”, our hands haven’t gotten any bigger since then. Inspired by ancient rolls of papyrus, Scroll is world’s first smartphone that seeks to balance the in-hand experience with readability by harnessing the benefits of a flexible display. It features a 10-inch display that can be rolled out as little or as much as necessary and then clicked into place. When unused, the phone can be stored in a small tube that fits perfectly in a shirt pocket or bag. Usability and portability are key features, and the smaller size means less packaging is used.
