seitenbühne

Opera magazine

seitenbühne is the journal of the State Opera Hannover. It is published every two months and presents backstage-stories, reports and pictures of activities in the opera house. The cover design is inspired by the title, which denotes a theater location (the wings on either side of the stage are called “Seitenbühne” in German). Thus the front cover portrays a seemingly unspectacular view of the fringe of a scene, the theatricality of which is only revealed in its entirety on the back page. Bound by the cover, which is in color, the black-and-white interior contains articles divided into categories also referring to theater locations.
