A smart device for breast self-examination

In addition to gynaecological check-ups, women are advised to regularly examine their breast in order to discover breast tumors at an early stage. Most women are insecure about how to do that correctly and don't feel able to recognize any changes in tissue. Sensa is a smart device that encourages women to regularly check their breast for any alterations. It assists the female users in performing the breast-self-examination correctly while integrated pressure sensors collect data on the structure of the breast. In case any tissue alteration is recognized, the corresponding app recommends visiting the gynaecologist for further investigation.

JURY STATEMENT

Smart device for self-breast-examination provides an easy and feasible solution to a growing problem of breast cancer. The product and system design is well integrated.

WINNER STATEMENT

It's a big honour to receive this award and it encourages me to keep on working hard. As the topic of my project is close to my heart, I am glad that the prize supports me in drawing people's attention to the importance of breast self-examination.
