Combining the technical properties in the functional area of slip-resistant ceramic coverings with the aesthetics of organic material is the background for the development of the new porcelain stoneware series WALK. Following the example of a textile fabric, the starting point here is a graphically worked out, digitally further developed thread structure. By crosswise laying and chaining the threads, a very own type of fabric is created as digital translation of the manual weaving technique. The ceramic surface realized in this way shows a distinctive materiality with characteristics convincingly combining functionality and esthetics.
