The 33,765-capacity Pudong Arena is a new landmark of Shanghai sports culture and the first new professional football stadium in China to meet the requirements of FIFA international A-level competitions. The design of the building is reminiscent of a traditional Chinese porcelain bowl. The shimmering, white metal facade and the gently curved shell highlight the compact appearance of its flat geometry. A generous, circumferential walkway around the second floor serves as a conduit for the visitor stream, inviting them to stroll, linger and gather. The arena is also an important public venue for fitness, leisure, and entertainment.
