Maximum sense of space

shift. is an extremely modular, sustainable and flexible room concept for maximum efficiency on a minimum of habitable surface. It is a basic grid with nine surfaces of 2.5 m². The living space not in current use can be minimized by sliding away the elements, while at the same time the area needed is expanded. All moving elements are based on a simple frame where personalized modules for such things as entertainment, storage and power generation can be attached. The elements can be slid manually or programmed in preset positions for one-click shifting. Thus, the living space of 22.5 m² automatically reacts to the needs of the inhabitant.

JURY STATEMENT

The accent on the sliding panels as a technical solution with aesthetical quality and customized potential gives this small space based in a grid of 9 squares a lot of possibilities for creating a home. A note to the contemporary lifestyle is an app that allows the control and the programming of the moving elements.

WINNER STATEMENT

When I received the news about the final results of the iF DESIGN TALENT AWARD 2017, I was incredibly excited. I would like to thank the jury, it is such an honor to be one of the award winners.
