Empowering Skateistan girls

Skateistan is an award-winning NGO, empowering over 3,000 children through skateboarding and education in Afghanistan, Cambodia and South Africa, giving them the opportunity to become leaders for a better world. Our focus is on groups who are often excluded from sports and educational opportunities, especially girls (striving for 50% participation), children living with disabilities and those from low-income backgrounds. Skateistan is the subject of the 2020 Oscar winning documentary, ‘Learning to Skateboard in a Warzone (if you’re a girl)’, showcasing Skateistan’s work in Kabul which provides a safe haven for girls to learn without fear.
