Ultralight Wearable Seating for Alpine Rest
SkiChair is an ultralight wearable seating system designed for skiers to rest on snow without removing gear or needing infrastructure. It anchors to ski boots, using the body and snow for stability and comfort while eliminating rigid supports. Compact and deployable in seconds, even with gloves, SkiChair promotes active rest, reduces fatigue, and enhances the skiing experience.
This design is astonishingly simple yet perfectly effective. It's hard to think of another seating solution for the slopes that could better combine the necessary attributes of portability, safety, and comfort. Chapeau!
WINNER STATEMENTSkiChair combines two things I genuinely love: skiing and designing seating experiences. Working on this project was a truly rewarding experience, and receiving this award is a reminder that ideas driven by genuine passion can grow much further than expected.
