Thanks to renewables energies such as wind, sun, and the tides, electricity is getting greener all the time. Yet wind turbines and solar farms only produce electricity when wind or sun are present, not necessarily at the time it is needed most. This new smart load-shifting device from Orange integrates a battery behind our customers' Internet router, the Livebox, that charges when the electrical supply is fully available. When electrical demand exceeds the electrical supply, the device powers the Livebox directly, making it disappear temporarily from the electrical grid. With this device, Orange intends to make a contribution to greener electricity.
