Sustainability and Resilience
Through its Sustainable Methods and Resilient Technologies (SmaRT) approach, HF converges 3 dimensions of sustainability - economic, environmental, and social. Using this approach, HF has created 2 SMaRT Villages for the mountainous communities of Gurunjor and Minapin. At the heart of SMaRT is the belief that low carbon and low-cost technologies & strategies can bring sustainable development to communities. This also provides spill over benefits in the form of education; skills & entrepreneurship development; environment; climate change; disaster risk reduction; livelihoods security; and diversification options.
