This key uses the way we perceive shape and the way in which our hands grab keys to provide us with the orientation we need to open doors in dark places. By using the sense of touch rather than sight, it is possible for people to quickly find and get their keys in dark places and to use them to get inside safely. This is particularly convenient for women coming home late and for the blind.
