Smritivan Earthquake Museum and Memorial

Smritivan Earthquake Museum was conceived as a tribute to the devastating 2001 earthquake. With 10,000 sq.m gallery space, India’s largest memorial-museum is a testament to human resilience and constant change. The museum journey is rooted in interpretation, interaction and experimentation. Drawing inspiration from the culturally rich context of Kutch region, custom-crafted scenography bind together the overall experience, becoming the anchors for storytelling. Across the 7 thematic blocks, one moves from experiences of wonder, tragedy and survival, to memory and everlasting hope.
