Social Kitchen 2012
Exhibition stand
Fisher & Paykel AppliancesFisher & Paykel’s design philosophy is based in re-evaluating the kitchen as a social space to create food and memories. The goal was to communicate this philosophy to a design-minded audience at Urbis Design Day. Social Kitchen 2012 guests embarked on a linear food journey along a custom 65 m kitchen to hunt, gather, store, prepare, cook, cool, clean and share. On the journey guests interacted with Fisher & Paykel designers and engineers about the experience at hand and their memories of food, cooking and life lived around the products. The insights gathered from these interactions will influence future generations of appliance design.
iF Gold Statement
Social Kitchen is an unusual presentation of products by a kitchen manufacturer. Clients were invited to an event in order to experience kitchen use together and then exchange views. We especially liked the pure, sensual 65 metre long staging on the theme of the basic elements earth, fire and water and which was consistently interpreted right down to the assistant’s uniform.
