Despite the vast array of digital payment options now on offer, cash is still king when it comes to making everyday purchases quickly and conveniently. In Switzerland, people tend to go to ATMs or banks to withdraw their cash, but maintaining ATMs costs banks a lot of money. This got the founders of Sonect wondering: in a world where anyone with a car and an app can be a taxi driver, why couldn’t everyone with cash and an app be an ATM? The Sonect app allows users to withdraw cash free of charge at any participating shop and also encourages them to discover small shops in their neighborhood. Sonect helps build communities.
