SONY Airport Lounge, Airport Munich, Terminal 2, G32

Sony Corporation

In June 2003 the SONY Airport Lounge, powered by VAIO, was unveiled at the opening of Munich Airport’s new Terminal 2. Located in the terminal’s “Schengen flights” zone, the 45-square-meter lounge is designed to look like a space-ship. Its guests come from all over the world and include business customers, frequent flyers and decision-makers. Set clearly apart visually from the rest of the airport, the multifunctional design serves as a relaxation, business, service and news center in one. Wood, glass, lighting and acryl were used to achieve a fine balance between minimalism and warmth. The lounge – sporting mobile SONY and SONY VAIO products – invites its mobile target group to check out the SONY technology world. Highly qualified lounge personnel and a help desk ensure that visitors get direct information first-hand. The SONY Airport Lounge also offers the opportunity to communicate instantly by phone, e-mail, Internet and fax. The latest computers are also available as office service stations.
