Art today forms an auto-referential system where many works relate to other works. Thus, a network evolves that is comprehensible and readable to insiders only. In as much as a museum can be called a site where artworks are collected, the eBay network, which sees itself as an online marketplace, must be called a site where objects gather that have only but one thing in common: They desire to be bought. On the premises of the Museum for Modern Art Frankfurt (MMK) those two networks entangle and are room by room combined in new fields of meaning.
