Magdeburg in a state of emergency. In June 2013, the whole city struggled against flooding. A year later, Städtische Werke Magdeburg (SWM) is looking back at these events. A gripping report was produced that successfully combines the challenges for and concerns of Magdeburg’s citizens with the spirit of SWM. Enclosed in a sandbag, the annual report instantly piques the curiosity for its contents. A neon red water level line leads readers through a flood of experiences – described through photojournalism, Facebook posts, and interviews. Just like it was during the floods, SWM is shown to be personal, engaged and dependable.
