Starck X Küchenarmatur
Kitchen mixerHansgrohe AG
The dimensions alone of the Philippe Starck-designed kitchen mixer Starck X make it a real eye-catcher. And yet, despite its impressive dimensions, the faucet is by no means obtrusive. Rather, being pared down to the essentials and with no frills, it is more notable for being oriented to functional necessities. A parallelepiped, strictly geometric in cut, forms the base. From it, the slim, bar-shaped handle rises up; just a gentle touch regulates the water flow and the temperature. At the same time, the right-angled plinth forms the base from which the cylindrical spout arises before moving in a wide arch towards worktops and sink. It is the continuous, clear, pared-down design language that links the various design elements of the faucet in what can safely be described as a sculptural entity.
