Economic Empowerment
The Stitches of Hope Empowerment Program serves vulnerable women in Githurai, Kenya. Women and adolescent girls are particularly vulnerable to poverty because of gender-based violence, harmful cultural attitudes and beliefs around gender roles, norms and female empowerment. The principal goal of the project is to: Emancipate the economically disadvantaged people of the Githurai community by empowering them socially, economically and culturally. Enable members of the local community to develop and sustain activities that will aid in improving their active lifestyle and quality of living in society.
Project Afya takes this opportunity to formally thank iF SOCIAL IMPACT for believing in us and supporting our mission. We are truly grateful for the recognition we have received for our work in the Stitches of Hope Program. We will be able to do so much now with your generous support. Our plan is to increase the number of sewing machines at our center so we can offer skills training for other very deserving young women in the community.
