Stotte - Ensure the Rights of Mobility Impairments

Measuring Instrument for Barrier-free Map

As the number of mobility impairments in Korea increases every year, it becomes more important to ensure rights to mobility and access for those mobility impairments. For that, barrier-free maps are made to provide information on accessible routes for mobility impairments with assistance devices such as wheelchairs. But their practicality and reliability are low due to the lack of information and low accuracy. ‘Stotte’ is a product that can improve the method of collecting barrier-free information. Users can measure barrier factors simply by walking around the streets with it.

JURY STATEMENT

'Stotte' empowers users to update barrier-free information, reducing inequalities by ensuring equal mobility rights. This tool encourages participation and inclusive planning, offering a practical step towards a more equitable urban environment for all.

WINNER STATEMENT

I'm deeply honored to win the iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD 2024. I believe design can be the key to addressing diverse societal issues our society faces. Thanks to the iF jury for giving me an opportunity to interact with many talented young designers. Special thanks to Professor Nam.
