SUNCUBATOR

Solar powered thermal bed

IDEAfree

Day and night temperature difference in Africa is extreme. Temperature varies from 40 °C at noon to 10 °C at night. Newborns are especially weak at regulating body temperature. Therefore, daily temperature difference can become very dangerous, possibly leading to hypothermia and even death. Our proposal, SUNCUBATOR, is a solution. SUNCUBATOR stores warmth from sunlight during the day and radiates it during the night, keeping the baby warm. With SUNCUBATOR, babies can better regulate body temperature and become less vulnerable to diseases. SUNCUBATOR can provide safe and sound sleep to African children who were previously neglected from care.
