Swimming Lane
Inflatable swimming lanes
In many places around the world, communities cannot afford to build a swimming pool. This design allows the creation of enclosed and safe swimming lanes by submerging the modular units in a lake. Thanks to flotation tubes on top the lanes remain buoyant and stable. This produces a safe space where children can learn to swim. Removed from the water, the units can also serve as tables.
JURY STATEMENTWINNER
This design contributes to global equality by giving children in poor regions a safe place to swim. Thanks to its modular form, it also has an educational function as children can assemble it together, thereby learning about cooperation.
