Books in cigarette packs

Released to coincide with the UK’s ban on smoking in public places, Tank Books are a set of classic novella and short stories, packaged in cigarette cartons complete with silver foil wrapping and cellophane seal. The individual design of each of the six titles draws on the rich iconography of cigarette branding, giving each classic tale a unique look that both draws from and breaths new life into the author’s work. The project marries a perfectly realised piece of packaging design with the romance of great literature, and in doing so introduces both to a new audience of consumers.
