Terracotta Valley Wind
Passive Cooling System for Public Space
This evaporative cooling system is designed to cool subway stations during summer and reduce energy consumption. Terracotta is an inexpensive and accessible clay material. Its porous nature allows water to quickly evaporate while utilizing the unused wind resource in subway stations, maximizing the value of train-induced wind.
This project encourages emerging young talents to address the crucial issue of energy resource management though the development of new technologies and intelligent materials.
WINNER STATEMENTWe are super thrilled and honored to be selected as one of the winners. Our works and design practice focus on property of natural material and low technology. Especially in today’s reality, we believe that it’s important to think about designing for better environment, and bette
