The project produces biodegradable sanitary pads from agricultural waste such as pineapple leaves, banana stems, and corn cobs. It thus offers a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to conventional products while combating plastic waste and unemployment in rural areas. It also promotes women's dignity and self-determination through a culturally appropriate, circular solution.
TerraVerde Care Pads turn agro-waste into biodegradable sanitary pads - tackling period poverty, plastic waste, and rural inequality. The jury values its circular design, community focus, and dignified approach to both hygiene and income generation. A triple-impact solution.
