The East Building of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum

Museum design

Imagine everything ending in a single moment, with the explosion of an atomic bomb. The journey into the memory of Hiroshima starts here, in this space, showing the cataclysmic transformation that took place in an instant. And the contrast of the change wrought by a single bomb is made the focus: before and after the explosion, destruction and rebuilding, life and death. These scenes allow visitors from around the world to viscerally understand the horror of Hiroshima and work to ensure it is never repeated.
