Stuck in the past, the Volkswagen Group's visual identity didn’t reflect their ambitions for the future. A versatile brand expression was needed – one that captured their innovative spirit. To support Volkswagen Group's transformation into a global leader in sustainable mobility, we developed a new wordmark and custom typeface. Enter "The Group," a moving and sleek neo-grotesque typeface. The typeface family serves the company's diverse global markets and supports over 200 languages worldwide. The new typeface acts as a strong and defining asset, representing the brand externally and inspiring a new sense of unity and motivation internally.

iF Gold Statement

This sleek, neo-grotesque typeface embodies simplicity and sophistication. It succinctly conveys Volkswagen’s forward-thinking vision, while its versatility across multiple platforms and languages ensures global cohesion. The refined design balances innovation with clarity, strengthening both external recognition and internal unity.
