The Home for Mutual Gaze
Residence
Celia Huang
Reevaluating the original layout of the 640 sq ft home, the three-bedroom configuration feels cramped due to overlapping circulations and functions. Considering the couple's lifestyle, the other two bedrooms are omitted. A central axis reorganizes the layout with the concepts of a “village”—divided shared and private zones. A sense of 'mutual gaze' was created through a circulatory flow. The removal of the main wall allows the ceiling to provide subtle hints, while movable furniture and background-integrated cabinets create a flexible, all-directional living space.
