The Kinetic: When the past and the future cross
Public Media Art
KOREA CREATIVE CONTENT AGENCY
This project is to show a media art to the public through a large-scale digital signage on the exterior wall of the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History, which is located in Gwanghwamun Square, Seoul. Gwanghwamun Square represents Korean history and still plays an important role as a civic square. It is a symbolic space where the past, present, and future of Korea intersect. 'The Kinetic' reflects the locational significance. It expresses the dynamics of the moment when the traditional and futuristic senses intersect by showing the kinetic movements of mechanical modules designed with the Korean traditional colors and materials.
