The Kyoto Costume Institute
The Kyoto Costume Institute (KCI) serves as an institution to systematically collect, preserve, research, and exhibit literature and materials that show how the times have influenced peoples' fashion culture and the interaction between Japanese and Western fashion in this realm. The institute was established in 1978 under the auspices of WACOAL HOLDINGS CORP., a Japanese underwear manufacturer. KCI’s new website was renewed to archive an overview of the organization and its past activities and to disseminate this content in a more engaging format to audiences both within Japan and abroad.
