The Lakeside Villa

This villa is located at the far end of Lake Biwa, the largest lake in Japan. Taking advantage of the small public road that runs through the site, we decided on the scale and design of the villa and distributed its functions into four sections so as not to spoil the surrounding landscape. Composed of four wings: the “Main House” (living/dining, TATAMI room, bathroom); the “Annex” (bedroom); the “SPA” wing (sauna, bedroom, lounge); and the “Zen” wing (outer living, meditation room). The villa is an experience-type villa where people can freely come and go between each area and experience their own time while enjoying the scenery of Lake Biwa.
