THE PEACOCK ROOM

Paying homage to the original Peacock Room located in a museum in Washington DC, the Shanghai counterpart distills the key elements of the original: the shelves, the vases, the textures, and the art. With these elements, a dramatic spatial re-construction is created. The drama is reinforced through an enfilade sequence of compressed and open linear spaces, and accentuated through the use of a single table that runs the entire length of the room, terminated at either end by the circular VIP table and the colour changing bar respectively.
