Hiking rest stop
Kobe city
The task was to create a comfortable rest area with toilet facilities and a garden in a national park environment near Kobe. The designers created a comfortable and safe restroom and a place with large benches and deep eaves where hikers could rest. This restroom collects rainwater for handwashing from the valley of the roof using steel columns as gutters. CLT made from local wood and thinned wood from the forest around the site were used as building materials, allowing the structure blend with the mountain environment.
