The Rift

(Online) Film / Video

In our film, we turned a typical apartment building into a reflection of a divided society and dive into all the recent hot topics, as we see opinions clash together – resulting in emotional rifts between the residents and physical rifts in the building. In a cinematic look we relive the last few years of dividedness in only four minutes. With every conflict we get sucked in more and more into the story. We are right there, while the rift makes its way through the building - interpreted in many ways appearing on all kinds of textures - and the world falls apart right beneath our feet. Until the film climaxes in the sentence: Can we talk?

iF Gold Statement

This captivating short film explores the complex and often conflicting interactions between residents of a single building. Despite portraying desperate situations, it ultimately delivers a powerful message of hope, encapsulated in the simple question, “Can we talk?”. This call to action encourages the audience to reflect on the importance of respect and inclusivity within diverse communities.
