Roof-farming system

LeChA / Lee & Chuang Architects

The design is an adaptable lightweight sky farm system with solar panels. It can be adapted to any of the corrugated metal shakes which one can find on almost any building’s roof top in Taiwan (which is a unique Taiwanese urban phenomenon). We hope this green installation can improve the heat and noise insulation and noticeably reduce the high indoor temperature in summer. In addition, we can provide areas to plant for food to wake people’s awareness on today’s growing food safety concern for a healthier and happier lifestyle. And as the system grows, we anticipated it can minimize the urban heat island effect and reduce the city’s energy consumption.

Development Time
up to 12 months
Target Regions
Asia, "Taiwan Cities"
Target Groups
Consumer / User, Public Sector / Government, "Building owners who has corrugated roof-top additions."
