THE SILHOUETTE_Space for Communication
Interior Design

Post-COVID, how we meet, interact and socialize have immeasurably changed. This private restaurant was designed to meet these times, providing a sequestered and intimate space for a small group of people. The space reinterprets the Korean traditional house, the Hanok. By utilizing light and darkness, and connecting the layered spaces, silhouettes and wood structure and details in the small space, these design elements were intended to recreate for visitors a feeling of familiarity to a different era rooted in the past. Mirrors and parametric wood pieces juxtapose density and volume, and vastness and light to create the infinite space.
