The Solar Updraft Tower

CD-ROM

CD-ROM to present and explain the solar updraft tower. A power plant for the large-scale utilisation of solar energy in regions with abundant solar radiation. The principle of the solar updraft tower is reflected in the structure of the user interface. At the centre of the display users can find basic information and a visual introduction to the topic through an animated 3D simulation. From there, three visually differentiated navigational sub-hierarchies branch off towards the periphery. The CD is as detailed and ambitious as professionals expect, but not deterring people who are not that physically adept. Physical processes are presented facile and understandably, scientific data is edited exciting and coherently. A huge amount of information is available as diagrams and as movies explained by a speaker. The CD gives an idea of something that does not yet exist.
