The Treasure

Saudi Arabian Pavilion, Expo 2010

Inside the Saudi Arabian Pavilion the visitors stand on a conveyor belt that slowly transports them into the main room. It glides around the room and onto a bridge over the 1,600 m² concave projection surface that encompasses the entire floor. The room’s center and ceiling are covered by an oriental-like mirror mosaic that creates the illusion of an infinite space. Compositions of floral forms, oriental patterns and poetic images of Saudi Arabia proceed from the room’s deepest point to fill the floor and walls in their entirety – an overwhelming homage to the Saudi Arabian country.
