Thermoplastics

Otto Bock HealthCare GmbH

Antibacterial Thermoplastics are used for the fabrication of flexible lower limb prosthetic sockets. They protect the skin and prosthetic socket against a wide range of different microorganisms. The benefit for the user is that odour and discoloration caused by microbes are considerably reduced and that the lifespan of the socket is extended. Therefore the antibacterial substances result in more pleasant wearing characteristics and improved skin comfort. This material is characterized by high rigidity, good rupture resistance, good vacuum forming characteristics and transparency.
