The new ThinkPad X1 Carbon is the ultimate in thin and light ThinkPad notebooks. Using a carbon fiber top cover and light magnesium alloy main body, the slim and sleek ThinkPad X1 Carbon is incredibly lightweight yet does not compromise the durability expected of a ThinkPad computer. On the keyboard, a dynamic, touch sensitive strip replaces the typical function keys. This unique strip presents a set of relevant functional icons which correspond to the application being used. For example, in a web meeting it displays microphone, volume, and camera controls. This feature offers great efficiency while providing a clean, uncluttered design.
