Factory repurposing project

The transformation of the Tianjin Power Plant into a mixed-use center serves as a model for sustainable urban renewal. The five-story Jinmao Plaza shopping center will combine the original 1937 building with a new building and expand urban functions. An integrated design method will be used to develop a unified proposal around the concept of "transformation" with architecture, interior design, and branding. The transformation of this disused factory into an open and welcoming space for the citizens of Tianjin inspires a new way of life while recalling local history.
