Tideline is a redevelopment project that lies in the central residential area of Xiamen, also called the Island of Egrets. Our task was to ensure the new park fits the way both egrets and humans want to live, in consideration of sustainability, ecology, and animal protection. As a result, we improved the ecosystem, as the tidal prism increased by 50%, which also brought in clearer water in Yundang Lake. The locals have an open and inviting space for social engagement with increased park routes. It is now one of the most popular places for locals to find connections with nature and people after the post-pandemic world.
